Google PageSpeed Insights (PSI) is a free diagnostic for a supplied public URL. It combines a Lighthouse lab run with Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX) field data when enough real-user data is available. The report emphasizes performance and also includes Lighthouse accessibility, best-practices, and SEO categories, plus opportunities and diagnostics.
WebEnture's Performance Agent calls the PageSpeed Insights API for a desktop Lighthouse performance run, then saves selected lab metrics, opportunities, and diagnostics in a shareable workflow. WebEnture does not currently expose PSI's CrUX field assessment. Its separate crawl-based agents add cross-page SEO, content, links, automated accessibility checks, security signals, conversion, and eCommerce. Pro starts at $29/mo; reporting and collaboration features vary by plan.

Google currently says the PageSpeed Insights API's embedded CrUX data is planned for discontinuation and recommends the dedicated CrUX API or CrUX History API for field-data integrations. WebEnture's Performance Agent reads Lighthouse lab results from PSI, not that field-data payload.

Use PageSpeed Insights when you need the full Google report, mobile and desktop lab diagnostics, or available CrUX field data. Use WebEnture when you want selected PSI performance findings inside a saved workflow and need broader crawl-based reviews or stakeholder delivery. WebEnture's performance result is not a substitute for PSI's field assessment; it is a narrower presentation of PSI lab data alongside other WebEnture agents.
Not for the same job. PSI shows the fuller Lighthouse result and available CrUX field data for a submitted URL. WebEnture's Performance Agent saves a selected desktop lab-performance result and adds guided presentation, sharing, and adjacent website-review agents. Choose based on whether you need diagnostic depth or a broader hosted workflow.
Yes. The Performance Agent calls Google's PageSpeed Insights API with the desktop performance category, and PSI runs Lighthouse. WebEnture extracts the performance score, selected lab metrics, opportunities, and diagnostics. It does not run the Lighthouse CLI directly and does not display every audit in the PSI response.
The public PageSpeed Insights interface is free and does not require an account. Google also provides an API, recommends an API key for frequent automated use, and applies service quotas. Those quotas and policies can change, so do not assume unlimited automated requests.
WebEnture surfaces lab LCP, CLS, and related Lighthouse measurements, but its Performance Agent does not currently expose the CrUX field data needed for PSI's real-user Core Web Vitals assessment. Use PSI, the CrUX API, Search Console, or your own real-user monitoring to determine field performance.
