Keyword Stuffing

Keyword stuffing is the practice of loading a page with keywords in an attempt to manipulate search rankings. This includes unnaturally repeating phrases, inserting lists of cities or keywords in footers, and hiding keyword-rich text from users. It violates all major search engine guidelines.

Why it matters: Write for users, not for keyword counts. Use your target keyword naturally in important positions (title, first paragraph, heading), cover related concepts and synonyms, and avoid unnatural repetition. If you are unsure whether a passage reads naturally, read it aloud — if it sounds awkward or repetitive to a person, it likely signals manipulation to a search engine.
